House Republicans failed to elect a new speaker on the first ballot, forcing the chamber to hold multiple votes for the first time in over a century. All after a small number of right-wing Republicans said they would not support top Republican Kevin McCarthy. NBC Newsโ Garrett Haake brings us the latest on the votes.
