Teams in Maui are continuing the search for missing people after deadly wildfires took over Lahaina. The confirmed death toll of 96 is expected to rise as the search continues.

"People are being held at gun point", first time hearing that. Regardless of whether this was done intentionally or by "natural" causes. My heart still breaks for the people of Maui, especially Lahaina. I will keep them in my prayers. 💔🙏🙌

I don't see what the big deal is. We're Americans. It's Karma since we place dollar amounts above people almost every time.
Maui is NO exception, as evidenced by real estate agents trying to take over the town.

The town is 9 square miles, 80% destroyed, with a population of 9,600 all trying to flee at the same time. Its the modern day version of Pompeii. Children, the infirm, sick, handicapped, wheel chair bound, or using walkers had little chance of out running a fire pushed by 60-80 mph winds. Roofs were literally being shredded by the winds strength and they have videos of it.1 to 3 percent of the town has been searched and they already have a hundred dead, yes its going to get worse.
Natural disaster will do only two things: Bring out the best in people or bring out the worst in people. There will always be people who look to take advantage of a bad situation.
The displaced people of Lahaina are demanding answers to questions that the authorities have no answers for. I don't expect any of the remains of the dead to be in recognizable human form. This fire had so much fuel, and was fanned by hurricane force winds, creating temperatures sufficient to melt steel, and incinerate bodies into the unrecognizable.
The sad truth is that the vast majority of those missing are in all likelihood dead. I expect the death toll to exceed 500, and push the 1000 mark. Without a DNA sample against which to run a comparison test, many of the bodies will remain unidentified. Extracting a viable DNA sample from a corpse burned as badly as most of the ones in Lahaina have been burnt is an extremely difficult task. Some of the dead will therefore not be capable of being positively identified
This is an unpleasant truth that many of the families of those who died in this tragic wildfire are simply going to have to accept as their reality.
It will take teams of forensic examiners from many different disciplines, many, many months, with tens of millions of dollars being spent to do so, in order to attempt to identify the hundreds of charred corpses that will eventually be recovered from the rubble in Lahaina.

… sad to say this … but what do you think happened to the hundreds of missing people in a small island … it was a firestorm that would go up as high as 2000 degrees fahrenheit which could easily incinerate and powder any human body !!!
And the poor, unknowing pets and other animals who had no human to.lead them to safety….dear God, release those souls.

The idea of the brass cojones of real estate developers approaching people who lived in La hai a pottering to buy the homes is these folks somebody take these hackles out and drown them! Of course, they would not offer even close to the value, and desperate people might be tempted, the soulless will hope! Brava, you diehard folks, keep the faith going for all!
Did anyone notice this before the Maui Fire? This was a comment from a person near the Lookout Fire in Oregon: "A member of my family was there (Lane County) visiting for the summer and she is lucky to have gotten out alive.. the locals complained of a sticky metallic layer of some type of soot that coated everything in the town the day before the fire.. it was on their cars, homes everything."

This is from a person from Oregon, regarding the Oregon Lookout Fire in Lane County, but applies to Maui Fire as well: " I am Oregon born & raised. I moved from Lane County a year & a half ago to Tennessee. Im back in Oregon visting now. It ISN'T drier than normal & every year there are a few 100+ degree days. This is all very normal. These fires are NOT. They dont act like wildfires. We get them every year. The fires in Oregon for the last 7 years have not been wildfires. These are infernos! They start instantly in multiple places. They are typically blamed on lightning, arson & this new thing powerlines. Everyones bill goes up after a fire. This didnt used to be a thing. This area was burned in 2020. Most of the folks affected currently just rebuilt their homes. The roads just got fixed. You could see the lasers on Satellite starting the fires in 2020. Im guessing this one is the same story. The current fire is acting the way the one in 2020 did. That fire was called the Holiday Farm fire. Greg Reese did a report on the Satellite images. Check it out. This is devastating for this community! People are not wealthy. I used to drive a bus for the city & i used to drive these folks around. Bus fare was a challenge for many. They need your prayers."
This could have been avoided! Why was no one watching the conditions especially since there were already red flag warnings?! County officials, police, firefighters…no one was paying attention? You can't let an entire town burn to the ground! 😠
