Most higher level government officials fly on government or private jets. Climate change mitigation doesn’t mean we will never drive cars, fly planes/helicopters, private, government, or public, that we will close every business releasing green house gases, become vegetarians, shutdown all farming equipment, reduce pumping of oil anytime soon, etc. Trump and his family used government and private jets to fly all over the world, for both work and personal trips, including Trump’s adult kids and their families along w/secrete service for the entire family which had to follow Trump’s adult children, their spouses, and their children around the world for all their personal business trips, government business trips, and all their personal holidays on the taxpayer’s dime. Trump said he’d charge the taxpayers at costs associated w/rooms, golf carts, food, other hotel services, rooms, etc when he and his family along w/all their secret service and other government employees/officials went to Trump properties. Trump of course lied and charged the taxpayers higher than his normal charges. He siphoned taxpayer dollars into his own personal businesses. Regular commercial fliers r subsidizing private jets to the tune of more than $1 billion a year. Trump/GOP 2017 tax bill allows the wealthy to deduct the 100% of a new private jets immediately. The Trump 2017 tax bill also included a zero percent tax rate on many US based corporate profits generated offshore, incentivizing U.S. corporations to move US jobs out of the country, and loopholes that allow corporations to shift profits to countries w/minimal or no corporate income taxes. All gop politicians voted in favor of making the M&L classes subsidize private jet owners, paying 100% of the purchase price for new private jets, and incentivizing US based corporations to move more U.S. jobs offshore. All Dems voted against Trump’s tax bill. In addition, as the gop tries to overturn student loan debt relief of $10,000 or $20,000 for M&L class borrowers, 13 gop members of congress including Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Greene, Ralph Norman gladly accepted having their PPP loans of thousands to millions for personal businesses paid for by taxpayers, all PPP loans forgiven total $787.2 billion. No business needed to prove financial need to get the taxpayer funded loans or to have them forgiven. The gop and conservative media work for the interests of the wealthy and corporations at the expense of the M&L classes. It’s really shocking to hear the gop and conservative media flat out lie to the American ppl.
