To be fair to Cullinan, he scored 4500 Test runs at an average of 44, and averaged 53 against India, back when India just had Srinath as their paceman with 2 or 3 spinners. So he wasnt the muppet Bunny that he's portayed to be here lol
Chappelli & Warnie 2 Aussie legends & icons !!!
Lots of people are flawed , men and women !
A lot of famous people around are up themselves and think they know everything, but with Warnie, he was confident in himself, but not up himself or a snob and going off everyone that knew him, it shows you what kind of person he really was. I mean another cricketer died also called Rob Marsh and thats sad and im sure he was a good person to, but it shows you, how you live everyday and if you can make a difference for others, then you will always be remembered
Nowadays im not watching cricket you know what i grove with warni I seen all wekets whatever he done but aus not giving what he have he got great brin what a great man
Its been 3 weeks and I still cannot believe it. Still wondering what the 2022/23 summer will be like in the commentary box
well done Ian. very thoughtful and insightful interview. much respect.
True … very true
What don't understand to young
To take his life.
Shane Warne is a legend
Chappelli, you are an S.A./ Aust. icon. You were the capt. when I started following Test Cricket. Respected all your commentary since. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Shane. Brilliant.
Very sad. Gone too soon.
Can we please stop describing people as flawed??? Or flawed genius or great but flawed. We are all flawed to think that Shane would be any different is insane, in fact the biggest difference between Warnie and us when it comes to our flaws is that my flaws aren’t on the back page. So I get to pretend they don’t exist.
Aussie Guy in Thailand surrounded by Thai Beauties, he died happy
I have never seen Ian Chappell so sad. This interview is a great tribute to Warne .
Great interview. Well done.
Shane was one of those very few about whom we can easily remark: Shave warne & Cricket made for each other. RIP
Awesome bowler and a wonderful person. R.I.P. Warney
Live every day like it’s your last because one day it will be. 🤔
Love warnie
A legend of the game, gone too soon.It just seems unreal,Shane Warne no more.
Throughout his cricketing career,he baffled the best batters and in the process infused life into the dying art of leg spin bowling and inspired a generation of young cricketers to take up the art. That will be his biggest legacy.A supreme entertainer loved by the fans and a spinner without parallel.Rest in peace legend. You were one of a kind.
Warnie leaving us is the sure sign of the collapse of civilization.
Lovely words from Ian about Shane two of my all time cricketing hero's 3 with Rod Marsh and I'm English through and through but love and admire fantastic cricketers RIP Rod and Shane
Respected him as a cricketer, but that pales into insignificance as a person, the more I learn about him the more admiration I have for him, what a lose
The best spin bowler by a country mile. RIP. One of the best sportsmen for sure
For me, he is the greatest spin bowler ever. The simple reason I say that is, he took 700+ test wickets playing alongside with some of great Aussie attack. They had McGrath the highest wicket taking fast bowler for some time and Gillespie, Bret Lee, Stuart McGill and co. That itself is a remarkable achievement.
Great interview, this chat has got me thinking. Chappeli is a cricket statesman, as is Ian Botham. Its time you two guys got together, shook hands before one of you leave this earth, had a beer and buried the hatchet. Life is too short for regrets.
Whenever australia needed in crucial matches Shane always delivered… Such a a versatile bowler… Rip…. Shane gone so soon… Condolences to your family…. .
Shane Warne was the most complete bowler, the BEST! in my book 🙏🏼
I didn’t even watch this video. Not been an Ian Chappell fan for a long time. I am 52, an Aussie and there are only 2 Australian cricketers that I’ve seen that could lick Warne’s boots in terms of impact on the Australian publics admiration, sheer exhilaration of impact on a game and an inability to walk away from the screen or the venue and they are the “Great” D.K. Lillee & the equal of Warney for entertainment, A.C. Gilchrist! All responses welcome.
PS: Sorry Punter
It is such a pity these murderers who sell all these vaccines get away with it.
Ian Chappell is an honest man!
Warnie was without doubt the best spin bowler that Test cricket has ever seen.
He could get the ball to spin on glass! 😃 He changed the game of Test cricket and influenced young kids (and adults) all around the world.
I still can't really believe it… 😢
M 🦘🏏😎
Be like Warnie and live your life.
Great interview Ian Chappell..you told it like it was !,👏
Great interview, Love you warnie
Exactly.
In 1994 I stopped supporting Australia after being disgusted by Dean Jones being axed from the Australian teams.
Started following South Africa.
However when Warnie or Deano came to the crease my adrenalin kicked in, I stopped my boredom with cricket and was hypnotized with anticipation.
I don't remember any other players apart from Warnie and Deano that made you stop whatever else it was you were doing and sit down with your drink to see the magic that was about to happen.
I still cannot fathom that we've lost Warnie and Deano with 18 months.
Now I don't have any cricket idols to follow at all.
I just hope one day that Victoria produces another player half as great as either of them.
I really wanted to listen to all that, but the background music was ruining it. I just couldn't do it. Just letting you know, as this was obviously made for the people.
Every kid I grew up with, and myself tried to copy Warne and we all failed.
Listening to Ian Chappell is a pleasure! RIP Warnie! Well remember the magic forever!
Greatest lawn bowls player of all time.
Something is wrong with the sound.
Legend simple as.
Solid kind words Chapelli Vale Warney
Gone way too soon. Warnie was everything, a great cricketer and cricket intellectual, but more importantly he was a great human being who was loved everywhere. His light will continue to burn bright.
Fans put down the beer ,everytime Afridi came into bat also
Enough talking it's time for the bugs to start feeding
iAN SAYS IT THE BEST !!
Miss you my cricket hero, love you a lot….
Beautiful words from Ian, and rightly, because Shane was the world's greatest living sportsperson. So so sad, and such a terrible shock. RIP.
