ALL electricity, gas and city water should have been shut off across the state. Then NO gas or electric fires!!!!!! When the storm has past everything gets inspected, fixed and turned back on.
thats normal in the tropics. Hurricanes are strong natural monsters. Im a Miami resident since the date of my birth. I have witnessed and impacted by direct eye landfalls and brushes of various hurricanes or tropical storms like katrina, irma, wilma, nicole, and many others. florida in on average the most struck state of the country. even without global warming or climate change, tropical cyclones are indeed monstrous mother nature phenomenon. My prayers go to the victims family and friends in cedar key and elsewhere in idalia's path. hurricanes are no joke and it does not discriminate anyone of all sizes, ages, heights and backgrounds. I lost one of my 3rd cousins from irma. Please dont let your guard down.

It's time for many people to stop rebuilding in flood zones! The government is the only place Florida residents can buy flood insurance and every American pays for it! Let the people with their docks and boats move or pay for their own insurance! I'm sick of hearing people cripe about kids getting college loan bailouts but not a word about tax cuts for the rich who live in these flood zones! Get off the coast and pull yourselves up by your boot straps!
