I wonder if he's a good team man. He often mentions about not being a good watcher, not like waiting to bat, in before the others. A really good team man will talk differently, eg What's best for the team etc etc.
I like this move because over the last 2 or 3 years, Smith hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire at no. 4, at least by his own standards. So I don't think a move up the order carries much risk at all. Different story if he was still averaging 70

Opening in Australia and Asia is ok for a non specialist but England and New Zealand pitches seam and the atmosphere is conducive to swing. Hopefully Smithy does well but playing in NZ will be challenging. Green better score some runs to justify this experiment.

He is a damn good test batsman,his technique allows him to play cover drive,on drive,straight drive,pull without any problem.he just loves batting and from bowling perspective there is no strong plan against him,because his stance makes him leave the ball outside off stump or in the line of off stump and forget about getting him lbw he just bring his back down at the right time.He is a genius
