NASA’s first-ever sample from an asteroid has touched down on Earth. The space capsule carrying the sample entered the atmosphere on Sunday morning. NBC News’ Liz Kreutz has more details on the historic mission.

We get hit by meteorites by the thousands all over earth every single day so we literally have millions of samples all over the world. I guess I'm not really understanding the point of this.
