My brother is retired ISP, as was my deceased Uncle. Itβs always been my personal experience that the Indiana State Police have been consummate professionals. I feel for the men and women in law enforcement who find it impossible to desensitize themselves from heinous crimes such as these. I have a young sonβ¦he is my whole world. What kind of sick people do this to their innocent child? Itβs heart shattering.

Why isn't there more focus on how the system failed this mother and child? It's so easy to blame the individual. So convenient. This way the officials responsible for the policy decisions that caused this are off the hook. They are more to blame for this murder than the mother because their policies made it impossible for her to get the help she clearly needed. The mother had been making claims that her son was possessed by a demon before this poor kid ended up in a suitcase. This mother should have had a mandatory psych evaluation and mandatory help before being able to take custody of her child again. No resources for this? That's okay, as politicians we can just blame the individual and refuse to prevent the death of children because we don't actually care.
Let's not forget that justice isn't finding a mentally compromised human and throwing them in jail because no one helped them when they needed it. This probably wasn't a malicious murder, it was very likely a terrified person who was unstable and did they only thing they could to stop a demon from destroying them. Had she gotten access to real help, this would not have happened. Had politicians stopped being corrupt for twenty seconds to actually help humans in extreme duress, this would not have happened. The blame lies with the politicians. This is what happens when a society refuses to run on prevention (which is cheaper), and insists on running on cleaning up the aftermath. We need mental health services. We need a real social safety net. We need our children to stop dying because politicians are indifferent to the deaths of our kids.
Where's BLM screaming for justice for Cairo? Yeah exactly. So STFU about any other murder or injustice.

He was not a young man he was a little boy. I really hate when black children are referred to as a "young man" and "young woman", when they are clearly children (boys and girls). He did not get a chance to grow to become a young man. The Lord rest his soul.
