20-year-old mother Kristel Candelario found her 16-month-old daughter Jailyn dead after leaving her home alone for eight days while she was vacationing in Puerto Rico and Detroit. Candelario has been charged with murder. WKYC’s Matt Rascon reports.

I'm super confused. Maybe I missed something. Did the neighbors have the baby while she was gone? They mentioned they were only watching her a few days? The mother never returned? Did they just drop off the baby and left her alone? Or are they describing a previous time this woman had pulled this stunt?

That is… disgusting! She never liked that baby… cause if you have given that baby to the neighbors before to take care of you’d do it again. No… it seems she didn’t want that baby to be cared for.

The signs were there and they chose to ignore them. When you ask someone to watch your kid for a few days then dont show up till a month and a half "Thats a Problem!". If that was me I would of called social services and maybe if she had done that this baby would of been still alive in the custody of the state or in foster care.

What a disgusting POS and waste of space. Leaving an infant alone for even 1 hour is so wrong. Anything could happen. But leaving an infant alone for 8 days?
It's situations like that the titan submersible would come in handy. Load it up with child abusers, rapists, and serial killers and drop it in the ocean. A trap door opens when they get to the bottom. The end.

Drop the kid(s) off at the police station, they didn't hear or see any signs of the baby at home alone at any point and time (the neighbors)?
Why she leave her baby alone why she take her baby with her or have someone whact her the baby still could be still been alive and she was be gone more than eight days she should told someone to take care of her baby . The mother more interested about on vacation than her child .
I hope this doesn't be the new thing that women do to their unwanted children.
Taking a vacation and leaving a 16 month old home alone! How horrible! The mother knew her neighbors would have cared for the child. This is child abandonment. That poor baby must have suffered terribly.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. Who goes on holiday for eight days with a baby home alone? How come neighbours never heard the lone baby screaming?
