The inflation that we are seeing is directly related to the over 7 trillion dollars in various aid packages handed out in the pandemic. and democrats supported the aid. Saving rate had peaked at a record high. All sorts of things affected costs including "the great resignation" people quitting their jobs during the pandemic requiring higher wages to get people to work, higher costs for all goods, supply chain issues, the fact that people were on lock down with travel restrictions, nearly 2 years with no travel. People are traveling by air and car to make up for that thus demand on fuel has been higher than ever. This will all shake out when people have spent down their pandemic savings. It will be like the demand on used cars, prices skyrocketed as companies couldn't get parts for new cars. Now demand for used cars has plummeted. Same with building materials.

world goods are priced in usd. when the usd ammount doubles so do prices its that simple. Government spends into the economy on top of the double usd supply to bail out the economy again. Now that wages are going up inflation is baked into too many places in the economy. The only way to stop the raise in prices is interest rates so high it will cause a recession.
