Why didn't Norfolk Southern invest in safety equipment? Because they didn't *have* to. Why didn't they have to? Because Trump released them from having to by reversing a regulation that required railroad companies to update their braking systems. But it doesn't stop at Trump either. Pete Buttegieg is the acting Secretary of Transportation in the Biden administration – and he is well aware that Trump rescinded those regulations. He should have immediately forced them back into effect. The blame for this "accident" falls upon many shoulders – we should hold *all* of them accountable.
