Why were we getting flu season ads last year but apparently now that Covid is gone we need to get vaccinated for the flu again?

This is the problem with the media. They take one thing and forget anything else says. Quote is "pandemic is over, we still have a problem with covid. " Nobody quotes the second part. And he's not wrong. Look around you. People do get covid, the symptoms are much less
Covid is now endemic. It's is now spreading and evolving throughout the world with the potential for new strains to arise in any country at any time. It is time to accept that this strain of virus is endemic like the influenzas and should be addressed as such. Vaccination and better outbreak mitigation including community wide monitoring and temporary mask mandates should be the goals. The public needs to be told repeatedly that this family of corn virus is here to stay for the foreseeable future.
