The war can end immediately but Hamas doesn't want! All they have to do is release all the hostages and have a peace treaty with Israel. But instead, Hamas and Qatar chose not to do so! The problem here is arab can not think strategically in the same manner as Israelis. Arabs are weak emotionally and indecisive.

From the start, it has seemed obvious to me Israel's end game is to create conditions to not allow Palestinians to ever return (or leave anything to return to) to Gaza territory once cleared by the IDF. The IDF has already signaled they are now turning their clearing operations southward, so they will continue to push the civilians into a concentrated pocket in the vicinity of the Rafa Crossing as they search and destroy Hamas remnants. My guess it they likely try to actually push most Palestinians out of Gaza and into the Sinai, despite Egypt's best efforts to stop this. I think this is why Netanyahu said Israel will provide security for Gaza for the foreseeable future. Security will mostly entail preventing Palestinians from returning to their homes rather than being an occupation force embedded with Palestinian civilians and thus a very active insurgency.
After war, Palestine would be free as an independent state. Israel could not interfere anything in palestine administration and territory.
Turn it into a unpopulated DMZ forever.

After the war rename Gaza the " Freedom Strip" a lavish beachfront oasis of resorts on the Mediterranean with modern architecture, world class dinning , shopping, education , medical & science opportunities made up of multi cultural peace seeking Arabs and Muslim civilians committed to keeping peace and prosperity in the region with a government over sight made up of Arabs, Muslims and Israeli official also committed to peace.
