Jackson, Mississippi Residents Struggling Amid Ongoing Water Crisis

In Jackson, Mississippi, many are trying to stock up on water amid the ongoing crisis. At the treatment plant, a temporary pump is helping restore pressure but the water itself is still unsafe. However, the increased pressure may create new challenges. NBC News’ Morgan Chesky has more details.

  1. A of Parts A-F Due to the destruction of housing caused by catastrophic-runaway-anthropogenic-global-warming [CRAGW] extreme weather events; and failed Republican policies. There are housing shortages all over America which is causing rent increases; and even more homelessness! The FEMA operated homeless-communities do not require residents to check out, there is no sign-in and sign-out issues as they are long-term shelters; which provide the privacy of individual living spaces. Where the shelter residents can feel safe from the other camp residences. Which removes many of the objections those homeless living in tents who refuse to use city established homeless-shelters; have voiced.

  2. X3 B of Parts A-F The B!den administration has proposed Christian, compassionate, homeless solutions but Republicans do not want the FEMA homeless encampments within their cities; which have the highest number of homeless families. The solution is FEMA coordinated homeless communities a 30 minute bus ride, 24/7, every 20 minutes, from the FEMA established homeless shelters; to the city. Established on land made vacant due to global-warming extreme weather events; that no one should rebuild on.

  3. C The FEMA homeless-communities / encampments are close enough to the city to work; and far enough away from the town to be out of sight and mind. Established on land now vacant due to the extreme weather events which is creating the housing shortage. Due to the catastrophic-runaway-anthropogenic-global-warming [CRAGW] that Republiguns deny exists.

  4. D With subsidized for the homeless electric-cargo-bikes at all bus stops from companies like: Wheels, Lime, Link, and Veo in the city and at the homeless encampment; so the working homeless can get to work. Which are large 1,000 people disaster relief centers. With trucked in water. Shared laundry, toilet, cooking, and shower-facilities. With restaurants, post office, and stores; just like a large campground.

  5. E of Parts A-F In the on-site factories the homeless population's workforce is used to make more homeless shelters from plastic-waste taken from the oceans and government subsidized Styrofoam; and electric car conversion kits which cost only $3,600 because The Defense Production Act was invoked. Which does not include the cost of batteries and installation.

  6. F of Parts A-F The homeless-shelters are powered and heated with butane and solar-panels, depending on how well the infrastructure held up, which are integrated into the construction of the homeless-shelters. Which are a dry, clean, safe place to sleep, and store their stuff. People from the city drive out to the Homeless-Shelter-Villages [HSV] to pick up food bank food; because that is where the food banks and free-ice machines are located.

  7. Where is joe Biden build back better America or his infrastructure going to start happening? I mean he’s been saying that before he was president now that he’s president he forgot about his promises ? You filthy democrats

  8. The GEN-L made by Watergen pulls and purifies 6,000 liters of drinking water a day from the air's humidity. Rather than waiting for racists to do the right thing. The least-expensive, long-term, instant solution to Jackson, Mississippi's and the entire country's drinking water shortage. Is the $30,000 [whose price will fall to $15,000 when produced at scale] GEN-L made by Watergen. It will cost $400 to connect the GEN-L system to the home. $30,400 is a much cheaper and faster solution to Jackson, Mississippi's long term water crisis; than waiting for racists RepubliKKKAR15s to do the right thing.

  9. These are the component to create Homeless Shelter Villages [HSV] using Pallet Shelter's existing HSV products: the Community Room sells for $37,000, the Bathroom costs $35,000, and the Services Office costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a HSV. The two person Shelter 64 costs $7,000. 100 X $7,000 = $7,000,000. For $7,201,000 the city can establish a HSV for 200 residents. For $160 million a city can establish 22 HSVs to shelter 4,000 residents.

  10. Ending private banks and only allowing state banks, public-banking, to operate where the billions in profits are used to help the state's people not to enrich the top 1%. Is how we finance free dental and healthcare for all Americans.

  11. America AmurderKKKguna is not a KKChristian country.

  12. Due to failed, sadistic, racist, Qu Qlux Qlan, global-warming-denying, RepubliKKKgun polices. No one can afford to pay for: rent, utilities, food, auto insurance, and gasoline deatholine? If he makes only $11 an hour with no healthcare or dental benefits, thanks to the Trumpsexuals.

  13. All of America AmurderKKKguna will be destroyed due to catastrophic-runaway-anthropogenic-global-warming [CRAGW]. The floods causing the rent increases which are causing homelessness throughout AmurderKKKa; will become more frequent and powerful. Which means the UN's design for floating cities to house the homeless must be used on land that will be flooded again. So the city can float on its moorings and no businesses or homes are affected by the coming floods which will be 3 feet higher. Amen.

  14. Because the Defense Production Act was invoked by legally-elected presi-decent Joe Biden. The residents of the Homeless Shelter Villages [WSV] work in on-site factories to produce electric-car conversion kits; which cost only $3,600! Which does not include the cost of batteries and installation.

  15. A one bedroom apartment in Portland, Oregon rents for $1,500 a month. How much income will the rental company require it to make in order to qualify to rent that unit? P

  16. The Democrats want to reverse the homelessness that failed RepubliKKKlan policies have caused all over America AmurderKKKa. By providing Homeless Shelter Villages using Pallet Shelter's existing components. While RepubliKKKguns are sadistic, global-warming-denying, anti-abortion even though that word is NOT in the KKBible, minions of Satan; that delight in the suffering of others. And have never offered any solutions to any of Amurdercaca's problems.

  17. The five things that Satan-worshiping-EVILgelical, RepubliKKKgun, catastrophic-runaway-anthropogenic-global-warming [CRAGW] denying Brand0nh0les; salvaged from their flooded shacks were: its guns, its Qu Qlux Qlan racism, its KKKible that does NOT contain the word abortion, its banjo, and its denial of science, facts, and truth that it finds inconvenient; like CRAGW.

  18. Who does it serve: The Holy Trinity as I do? Satan as the anti-abortion do? Or Donorrhea RumpT as the democracy terrorist do?

  19. Everyone is a climate-refugee, and economic-refugee; AR15hole!

  20. Paragraph 2 of 5. The UN is supporting a design for a new floating city that can house the homeless. Build and anchor these floating cities for the homeless ON LAND. At a roundtable on Wednesday, the UN said floating cities could help protect people from sea-level rise while addressing the lack of affordable housing in major cities. What once seemed like the moonshot vision of tech billionaires and idealistic architects could soon become a concrete solution to several of the world's most pressing challenges. At a United Nations roundtable on Wednesday, a group of builders, engineers, and architects debuted a concept for an affordable floating city. Unlike instances in the past when these futuristic designs have been met with skepticism, the executive director of the United Nations Human Settlement Programme (UN-Habitat), Maimunah Mohd Sharif, said the UN would support and shepherd this project to fruition. "Everybody on the team actually wants to get this built," said Marc Collins, the CEO of Oceanix, a company that builds floating structures. "We're not just theorizing."

  21. Paragraph 1 of 5. The UN is supporting a design for a new floating city that can house the homeless while withstanding a Category 5 hurricane April 3, 2019 This news article is from INSIDER. Build and anchor these floating cities for the homeless ON LAND that has already been flooded and will be flooded in the future by FLOODS 3 FEET HIGHER. The United Nations just unveiled a concept for a floating city that can hold around 10,000 residents. The city is built to withstand natural disasters like floods, tsunamis, and hurricanes. The design comes from architect Bjarke Ingels and floating city builder Oceanix.

  22. Paragraph 3 of 5. Build and anchor these floating cities for the homeless ON LAND that has already been flooded and will be flooded in the future. The UN is supporting a design for a new floating city that can house the homeless The company believes a floating city project would address both dire housing shortages and threats from rising sea levels. The structures themselves would be designed to withstand all sorts of natural disasters, including floods, tsunamis, and Category 5 hurricanes. Silicon Valley's largest city wants to house the homeless in floating apartments. The concept, known as Oceanix City, was designed by renowned architect Bjarke Ingels in collaboration with Oceanix. Though it still needs funding, it's essentially a toolkit for investors brave enough to take on the project. Here's what the city might look like if it comes to life. The city would essentially be a collection of hexagonal platforms that can each hold around 300 residents. Hexagons are widely considered one of the most efficient architectural shapes. (Think of the orderly inside of a beehive.) By designing each platform as a hexagon, the builders hope to minimize their use of materials. The designers consider a group of six platforms to be a "village." The entire city would contain six villages, for a total of around 10,000 residents. Ingels said 10,000 is the ideal number of residents, since it would allow the island to achieve "full autonomy" by producing its own power, fresh water, and heat. Ingels is best known for individual projects like the Superkilen public park in Copenhagen or a pair of twisting towers in New York City. But he told Business Insider that designing an entire city gives him room to expand his vision. "At the city scale you can achieve more," Ingels said.

  23. Paragraph 4 of 5. Build and anchor these floating cities for the homeless ON LAND that has already been flooded and will be flooded in the future. The UN is supporting a design for a new floating city that can house the homeless The city would not contain any garbage trucks. Instead, pneumatic trash tubes would transport garbage to a sorting station, where it could be identified and repurposed. "This doesn't look like Manhattan," Collins told the UN. "There are no cars." The design might allow for driverless vehicles, however, and the city could experiment with new technologies such as drone deliveries. The concept calls for "ocean farming," which would involve growing food beneath the surface of the water. Cages underneath the platforms could harvest scallops, kelp, or other forms of seafood. Aquaponic systems would use waste from fish to help fertilize plants, while vertical farms would generate year-round produce. Both of these technologies could also help the city remain self-sufficient during a hurricane or other natural disaster. Overall, the goal is to reduce waste and produce all the food necessary to feed the city's inhabitants.

  24. Paragraph 5 of 5. Build and anchor these floating cities for the homeless ON LAND that has already been flooded or will be flooded in the future. The UN is supporting a design for a new floating city that can house the homeless while withstanding a Category 5 hurricane Oceanix envisions the villages within about a mile of major coastal cities. The platforms could also be towed to safer locations in the event of a disaster. The platforms would be bolstered by Biorock, a material created by exposing underwater minerals to an electric current. This leads to the formation of a limestone coating that's three times harder than concrete, but can still be made to float. The substance becomes stronger with age and can even repair itself as long as it's still exposed to the current. This allows it to withstand harsh weather conditions. "Cities really start and fail by how well they manage water," engineer Bry Sarté told the UN on Wednesday. In a disaster scenario, machine generators could pull air from the atmosphere, condense it into water, and filter it for impurities like metal or bacteria. These machines pull clean drinking water out of thin air, and they might be a solution to the global water crisis.* In addition to homes, the city would feature a spiritual center, cultural center, and communal library, where residents could rent computers and bicycles as well as books. All buildings would be constructed out of sustainable materials like timber and bamboo. They're also designed to be disassembled so that future generations of architects can reconfigure the concept.

  25. "This comes after days of excessive rain and flooding caused pumps to fail at one of the town's water treatment plants and has left residences and businesses experiencing low water pressure and being under a boil water notice for a month."

Seems it is the rain to blame, but the liberals blame the Governor because he is a Republican.

  26. Ted Cruz said America is the best. So it must be true lol

  27. Not being mean or nothing but BLACK people MUST learn OUTDOOR survival skills there are bodies of water and it can be cleaned through boiling or very very very small amounts of Clorox..also starting to build emergency wells will help in this time where the government is being extremely corrupt..we cannot be dependent on a corrupt government that at this point are playing with citizens lack of knowledge!!!! Please I beg of all the black people reading this….you didn't see too many white people in that line you saw them giving out the water….because white people are always camping and they are always teaching their children survival techniques many understand that we are all one disaster away from going back to the stone ages and what irritates me is how many black Americans DONT HAVE OUTDOOR survival skills and REFUSE to learn all in the name of being clean and not being able to get dirty and yada yada….or some have very very basic survival skills and wouldn't really be able to do much in a time of crisis…so please I'm not telling black people this to be mean this is a very sad situation a government should be able to be trusted but God forbid both a gas crisis and a water crisis arrives and people won't be able to drive to pick up water….do you know how to get a pale? Do you know how to find a water source like someone people this is just I'm at a loss bro

  28. Chokwe Lumumba was an American attorney, activist, and politician, who was affiliated with the black nationalist organization Republic of New Afrika and served as its second vice president. He served as a human rights lawyer in Michigan and Mississippi. In 2013, after serving on the City Council, he was elected as Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan, as Edwin Finley Taliaferro, and was raised there. He changed his name in 1969 after joining the Republic of New Afrika.

  29. Our crumbling infrastructure but the Mississippi senators voted against the infrastructure bills they didn't want the money so they shouldn't get a dime nothing zip. Hey did ya here we're going to the moon and then Mars they think there's water there maybe life. Your republican senators Mississippi are worthless vote them out! Vote for the Democratic party.

  30. Mississippi isn’t ukraine so it isn’t a top priority to our government

  31. Meanwhile billions to ukraine while Mississippi has had this problem for years

  32. The GOP dynamited Biden's initial plan to improve America's infrastructure. Sadly more tragedies like this will have to happen before Americans wake up and smell the sewage instead of the coffee. You can do the ostrich thing for only so long.

  33. Stop sending Bns of dollars to the Ukraine and then fix the problem with that money…A no brainer…. Tony cuenca

  34. I think we should ask President Zelensky for the money to fix Jackson’s water system.

  35. You do not understand the extent of the problem. We are in the past the tipping-point, downward, unstoppable, extinction by the year 2060 spiral. We will all be homeless soon due to runaway-AGW destruction of the entire world.

  36. Rather than waiting for racists to do the right thing. The least-expensive, long-term, instant solution to Jackson, Mississippi's and the entire country's drinking water shortage. Is the $30,000 [whose price will fall to $15,000 with competitors] GEN-L made by Watergen that condenses and purifies 6,000 liters of drinking water a day from air-humidity. It will cost $400 to connect the GEN-L system to the home. $30,400 is a much cheaper and faster solution to Jackson, Mississippi's long term water crisis; than waiting for racists to do the right thing.

  37. Water is large, big and tastes good when mankind is made smaller

  38. YOUR NOT DOING ANYTHING.

  39. Too bad Ukraine got all of our money 💸

  40. Was like… the story behind the Jackson Mississippi water issue didn't sound right. Who allows a water tank system for long without cleaning, then say cleaning failed and don't know when the problem will ever be resolved. Such doesn't happen even in Africa that most consider poor. Said let me check population demography of the area. Ahh ha- 82% black. Tragic.

  41. I wish here in Louisiana, would share some water with them, if we haven't already.

  42. Turn the lineup for a check that’s gonna be the next line everybody’s gonna get a check let’s go to the casino they got Goodwater

  43. As the economic crisis keep rising, one needs to have different streams of income, a well detailed diversified investment portfolio in the financial markets is needed to survive, as well as secure a profitable investment future, Thanks so much Mrs Donna for improving my portfolio.

  44. The democrats giving away billions of dollars to Ukraine and can't help their own citizens in this country to have decent water!!!???🤔🤔🤔
