There is a major loophole in our system of government if a president can, unilaterally, declare war on an industry with the goal of eliminating that industry. The Biden War on the Petroleum industry has lasted over two whole years and there is no end in sight. This in a supposed free-market economy.
It is said there are Checks and Balances within our system of government but there appears to be nothing that can be done to stop a President conducting such actions by those who oppose other than waiting for the next Presidential election.

The SPR is not oil sitting in huge tanks, it is simply assured contracts for oil companies to SELL it the government at a certain price.
