$15 p/h is the bare minimum to survive in America, paying people 13.3% above the bare minimum to survive is not going to attract labour bcause people think in terms of disposable income when it comes to how much their job pays, not how much their earning for their landlord, their utilities provider, their taxman & so on. If people can subsist without work, & its always possible with state support or not if u are resourceful, then theyre not going to accept working for a bare 13.3% of their wage packet as disposable income. Average real wage in the US MUST start rising again because starving people into working for essential nothing but survival just makes them roll the dice with their lives instead, whats the point of sprinting to standstill your entire life when u can live or dye making a grab for something better?
