Former “Empire” star Jussie Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail and 30 months probation for falsely reporting he was the victim of a racist, homophobic attack. After his sentencing, Smollett stood up in court and started screaming “I am not suicidal,” and proclaimed his innocence.

I was definitely laughing at the speech the first time I heard it LOL but I started to dissect what he was saying. He’s pretty much saying that if he dies in prison, he’s trying to let everyone know that it wouldn’t have been a suicide because he’s not suicidal. I thought this man was completely nuts shouting I am not suicidal, but I get it. So many celebrity deaths are ruled as suicide and of course they did so they can’t speak their side of the story. He’s making it clear that he is not suicidal. He’s really scared that something is going to happen to him or he’s going to get killed in jail so he’s making it clear that if they rule it a suicide, it probably wasn’t. But he definitely can’t believe he’s getting reprimanded for his own actions. Wake up brother. You can’t keep lying to the police and they don’t do anything about it!

I wish the judge would have put him on suicide watch cause to me this seems like a pre meditated statement to make a big sacrifice for being a mentally ill person who clearly isn't all right in the head and wants attention. Our society puts a lot of value on attention whores specially social media and mainstream media. There is people like him in higher positions in government we really need to put more effort on screening people and put mental health priority. Look at Putin, there is a lot of people like them that hide and never get noticed.
