I've heard this same talk a million times. Everybody should start telling the truth including her. How can it be said that white people want to whitewash history because it's "painful?" The truth is racist government leaders and lawmakers, from the president on down, all of them want to whitewash history so black people will never receive reparations which is really what this is about. They don't want to give up their racist cahoots and could care less about comfortability or a painful past. They really don't care about that. Why? Because they want to keep this racist thing going for as long as America allows it, even keeping all the racists systems intact so they can keep on discriminating and killing black people. If America deals with its painful past, then everyone can move forward with optimism for a brighter future. Lies are never good. Systemic and institutional racism, discrimination, police brutality, and generational poverty all have to stop and cannot be allowed to move forward into another generation. It has to end. No more speeches, it's way past time for action.
