This is another abhorrent medical decision made by non medically trained legislators. American medical association should be speaking out against this requirement that will further escalate the departure of emergency services and ob/gyn services. After, Kansas voters voted overwhelmingly to prevent changes to our current abortion laws. If they're going to mandate care for a baby born after a failed abortion, which doesn't happen, why can't they mandate care for babies born with severe disabilities, or those that don't survive more than a few hours or days after birth? Those parents have to deal with that trauma and that expense.
