The problem with them mostly is we don’t let our children fail, to many parents and schools reward them regardless of the success. What it has done is increased their inability to pick themselves up and go back at it when they fail. So, now in their young adult lives when they fail , the crack under the pressure and increases their stress level. In the Olympics it’s a stressful environment naturally even for the well prepared.
