King Charles revived the tradition of riding on horseback in his first ‘Trooping the Colour’ parade, which celebrates a monarch’s official birthday. The ceremony has been an event held since 1760, featuring military bands and an air display.

    The Duchy of Lancaster, a land and property estate that is run as a profitable business, provides whoever sits on the throne with lucrative annual payments of around £20m a year.

    New research and analysis by the Guardian estimates King Charles III has a personal fortune of £1.8bn. Much of the king’s private wealth is derived from his and his family’s public roles as working royals.

As a Schoolbow Army Cadet (Hallcroft Detachment of the Derbyshiore Yeomanry) in (I think) 1958/59ish I arrended a 'rehersal' of 'The Trooping of the Colour', incidentally, good to see you have spelt 'colour correctly, and then returned to Ilkeston my home.I don't think I ever saw good queen Liz doing her bit the next day on film or Tele, cos we didn't have one but I have seen many since and she rode Side Saddle. Good to see Charlie is doing it Horseback.
