Los Angeles firefighters used a helicopter to rescue a man who jumped into the flooded river to save his dog.

  1. Dogs know how to swin.
    If they fall into raging waters, it's best to let them find their way out.
    Don't jump in when conditions are against you (as in this case) as you'd only be endangering yourself and the rescuers.

  2. Mad respect to the rescue teams. What they just did is nothing short of amazing and yet they make it look almost mundane. I've never been stuck floating down a river in a storm, but it's good to know these dudes are out there in case I ever am.
