U.S. & Mexico Reach Agreement To Keep Legal Border Crossings Open Amid Migrant Crisis
What a typical joke by the Biden administration. Send in the “big boys” from the cabinet to Mexico, have a US government jet fly them to Mexico, have a very extravagant lunch, talk a few hours, make some promises, shake hands and smile, fly back to Washington, and declare victory.
So what did the US and Mexico agree upon? Well, the Mexican President announced that the U.S. has agreed to keep legal border crossings open. Also, both countries said that they would aim to tackle the root causes of migration.
Wow, “allow to keep legal border crossings open”. So if you cross into the US legally, then the border crossing remains open. If you are a criminal, then the crossing is illegal and the border is closed for you. Thanks Mr. Mexican President, that cleared up a lot of confusion for the American people. What a joke! Just for information: The Biden administration has let 99% of migrants who have come over the border since 2021 to reside in this country.
Both countries said they would aim to tackle the root causes of migration. Right! Six million “illegals” walked through Mexico and into the US. Mr. Mexican President, during the last three years, if you were worried about “root causes” of migration you would have said something, or collaborated with the US, or stopped some of this migration at your borders. Since the “illegals” were not going to migrate and stay in your country (wonder why), you did nothing. Not your problem!
Three years ago our illustrious Vice President was assigned as the Biden administration's point person on addressing migration from Central America. She launched the Root Causes Strategy in July 2021. Four “root causes” were identified: poverty, violence, corruption, and climate change.
So Mexico and the United States under Joe Biden are going to tackle poverty, violence, corruption, and climate change in the seven Central American countries. Question: How well has this strategy worked out so far in the past 3 years? Question: The “illegals” have arrived from 180 different countries. Any plans for the other countries?
In fiscal year 2020, the US Border Patrol apprehended a total of [ 400,651 ] individuals at the southern border. (President Trump Term).
In fiscal year 2023, [ 2,406,306 ] individuals were apprehended. (President Biden Term). A staggering [ 600% ] increase!
A pipeline of 4 million migrants from Panama through Mexico is now headed toward the southern “open border”. At the present rate of entry, Joe Biden is shooting for 3 million “illegals”. Sounds like 2024 is going to be a banner year.
As a Cali LA native I hope they bring more migrants here .
This is a reflection on this Administration’s failure to lead well & to strategically plan. The open border is a disaster! And were mad as hell that they are recklessly spending taxpayers dollars! Close the Border!
