Good report and good guest. My additional commentary is fun to watch the public's reaction to a sector layoff; in this case technology. The layoffs are simply indicators that the sector has become too bloated with fat, and they have to reduce to assure a competitive edge. I worked in the fat-cat oil business for 20 years, and was always amazed at how everyone freaked out when the price of oil crashed, and the layoff started. This is simple, mathematics, and economics; it is healthy capitalism in action.

Technology layoffs are in areas which are used to suppress information. Tech companies are not laying off surplus workers, they are laying off those who can testify against them in the future. This gives the companies involved a chance to implement gagging orders which are not protected by whistle-blowing laws and to accuse those who dare to come forward of simply being vindictive and aggrieved.
