British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said she would “deliver a bold plan” to lower taxes and tackle the growing energy crisis following the announcement that she will be the U.K.’s next prime minister. Truss will be officially appointed prime minister on Tuesday after meeting with the Queen in Scotland.

Bold? That's a convenient word for stupidity. The reason we are suffering the inflation is the fact that there are too much money out there. And we have learned the trickle down theory never works over the last 30 years in US. When you give the rich a tax break, it won't lead to spending or investing. The investors invest to make money. So do the rich. And most rich people are not stupid enough just to invest to lose money. On the note, the corporations don't invest to increase production just because of the tax break. However because the supply is short, the corporation may use that money to increase production. So one point for Truss.
UK needs more supply right now more than ever. It is the scarcity that is running the cost higher. Ask the oil companies to start drilling in US and to start recommissioning the oil refineries that British Petroleum shut down during the Covid. You should have done those things already by the last February when Russia invaded Ukraine.
