A severe drought is raising concerns that salt water from the Gulf of Mexico could reach water treatment plants near New Orleans, disturbing the entire water supply in the region.

Start implementing RAINWATER HARVESTING!!! Divert your downspouts into yards built with berms and basins to catch the rain. It restores the water table and prevents over-water usage from the municipalities. Check out Brad Lancaster. His process got an entire city to change their codes regarding street water runoff and they are seeing amazing results. Its on the individuals tho, it takes action by citizens first to ever get the city to go along……..Permaculture is key!
