Authorities nationwide are cracking down on “ghost cars,” or vehicles with covered, obscured or fake license plates. The setup makes thousands of cars untraceable. Officials in Philadelphia launched a website where residents can report sightings of these “ghost cars.”

LICENSE PLATES STOP CRIMES AND DRIVE BYES. THE LEADERS HAVE SPOKEN. SO THERE. WAHAHAHA HAHAHAHA LOL
Can they crack down on gun crimes an mass murders before license plates issues smh.
You realize that in Maryland and Virginia people steal the frigging plates if they can't get the expiration dates off of them and this has been going on over a decade and yal made me pay FOUR times in TWO counties to replace mine, so no. I will NOT put a license plate on there when I'm south of the border anymore, because you all can't keep your crime in check. Maybe you can start by handing the plates out for free so they're worthless to thieves. Stop renewal BS like most 1st world countries, even Canada no longer has the plates done that way because we WANT to deter crime. Does the US want to deter crime? No, you just want to warn us to go broke to replace our tags over…and over…and over…so if you scare us into thinking we are the criminals for having our plates stolen on YOUR watch, we will spend more money. How about NONE of us have tags anymore and you get to play a fun game of "how can I actually prevent crime instead of terrifying law abiding citizens regularly"
No matter the stock market crash one needs to have different portfolio, I already invested in Forex and Crypto which are really profitable
They use crime as a scapegoat this is really about government missing some of their slush fund with parking tickets 🤣🤣🤣.. give one crime example and old white people will be on the police side every time.. go Republican and buy their silver and gold coins 🤣🤣🤣
In NC, we don't have ghost cars. People just steal and swap out license plates. You won't ever see a ghost car in this state. They make too much money off of traffic citations to let that go.
It's about time.
Cars are property and seizing property is theft of property.
Big thieves steal from little ones is the American Way.
I live near a city of 50k, and also do a lot of shopping in the next city over that has 75k+. In the past 3 years, every time I drive to either city, I see vehicles without tags/plates of any kind 😮
Oh my god. The exploitation of a faulty system being used for criminal beneficiaries? no way, almost like this was bound to happen. what are we going to do 😒😒😒
Sure wish the founders were around to witness us formerly free persons being forced to bear that slave tag on our private property
Did you know the Constitution specifically forbids federal or state governments from forcing consumers to purchase any and all private services or goods? It does, specifically. As one Texas law maker pointed out in the 1980s, "forcing citizens to purchase car insurance is categorically not just unconstitutional, it's anti-constitutional."
That's right. Up until the 1980s, state legislatures laughed at the concept because every single law maker knew it was unconstitutional. Then the insurance lobbyist starting funding political campaigns. And tada, we are now practicing on a daily basis 100% unconstitutional laws.
why not work with car manufacturers to put the vin number in the ecu such that the police can ping a car and get the vin number.
i mean cars today can get firmware updates remotely using cell phone tech so why not a vin number.?
Money baby…
How much money is the state losing?
Ask that question .
Then again, states like Florida, who's law makers promised up and down like children begging for candy, that tolls on roads to be built would be removed the moment the roads were completed, instead created more tolls that got much more expensive and the hundreds of promises never kept.
I have no problem with motorist simply refusing to pay any of those tolls forcing the state to keep its promises whether the state likes it or not.
Pay me
It’s always been a major problem in Philadelphia
They won't give you Healthcare
They won't Raise Wages
They won't solve homelessness or any issues related to poverty
But they will steal your car if you take the license plate off of it, because that's what everybody around the city's been clamoring for, for years now…..
Dear God this country is so corrupt
become ungovernable
