The maternal health center at Centinela Hospital in Los Angeles is closing in October after an investigation. The family of April Valentine filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful death and negligence after the 31-year-old mother’s death last January. NBC News’ Zinhle Essamuah reports.

I’m 2 weeks pregnant and I’m black. I’m not having my baby in a hospital. I’m going to do it at home by myself. I’ll google everything that I need to know. If y’all don’t hear from me after May 2024 that means I f’d up and died.
Tbh I've worked in the health care industry and there were only 2 nurses on my floor (therapy department) who decided to pursue nursing bc it was their calling the other 8 told me they only got into the field bc of the money i was there for 9 yrs those money grubbing nurses didn't last long by the time i moved on to a better position most of them were gone. A few quit bc they couldn't handle the pressure a couple were fired bc they kept making serious mistakes ( 1 of the fired caused a death) 2 went on to work in environmental services and the rest resigned to go work in another hospital. One of these ex nurses said she wanted to be able to afford a bmw truck and to live downtown in a condo. I've seen it first hand majority have no compassion and its all about their pocketbooks. Oh and the one who went in to sanitation had to work 2 other jobs just to keep her dream vehicle and condo .
That poor man. 😢 Freaking unacceptable
And people wonder why birth rates are declining. The healthcare system is a joke!
