Really looking forward to reading this. Every once in a while you come across a memoir that is truly transparent, raw, honest and more so has a lesson. From what I’ve heard and read so far, it sounds like this checks all of the boxes. It is especially important during the addiction epidemic we’ve been facing for years and has only become stronger. I’m really proud of you Matthew.
He's human…. he's one of the 10's, if not 100's of millions. Im in about 2/3 years of the disease and he had it for 30 years! Watching him talk and listening to him speak is big friggen wake up call. This it what the outcome looks like for me.

I would call myself the biggest friends fan of all time, but if it’s possible, I think now I love it more.
To love someone and to not be able to tell them daily or at will is very hard. And it must be some kind of punishment by God. Myself, I've dealt with that situation several times. And as a skinny boy, kid, teenager, youngman, to Mr. , I am still a skinny person today.. And because of that I feel like that "Lets be friends" moment Mathew had with Jennifer, has hit me in my life every time I tried practically. At 53 it's cursed me so many times, I just stopped asking years ago. I don't even care anymore. I'm alone now, and will probably always be alone. So what, I've had girlfriends, and what I thought to be lovers, and even a wife through this mess. And I believe now, that not a single woman ever truly loved me though.. And I guess I've had a face only a mother could love. And a world only a loser could accept or want.
Don't feel bad for me though. I AM FREE.. And I've learned a lot of things in this world. And I am Free from everything, but love for my family & Weed.. And God is taking them both away from me slowly too, like us all.
I'd love to meet you Mathew. You are a very funny person. And I'd bet a very cool person to hang with. Wishing you well Mathew. Hope you're eventually happy. That's more important than anything bad we will ever deal with. Being happy helps us get to the next day with a smile. Surround yourself with those who love you. It's all we ever truly have and will miss later = Our loved ones.

I always enjoyed his character performance on Friends.
I root for him to continue with sobriety and heals.
But I really do not understand how revealing that story: about Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen: can be helpful to others.
Comes off as humiliating and disrespectful to Eddie and Valerie.
But I guess it's all part of his journey.
I know all too well about addiction. It's not fun, it's a living nightmare. Very glad Matthew is doing well.
My sister died two weeks ago of cardiac arrest…a byproduct of years of substance abuse. I am glad he's making it through. He seems like a guy my sister might have listened to, or is that wishful thinking?

Mathew looks like hs is 70 years old. That ain’t addiction anymore. That’s his way of life. He has been on that junk for decades now.
I'm haven't watched yet, but I'm so glad he's speaking about his struggles and I so hope he's doing better.
Honest review: In his time he was great, now he is out of work, alcoholic who is almost broke and looking to make money asap. And as others actors do…they cling to their last bit of fame to write a book, tell people they hit rock bottom but now they've conquered their demons and then they get the attention they so badly crave and make a few mill in the process.
How desperate is he for money? He is writing a book in which he exposes personal secrets from other people/actors. If you do that, for money…you get shunned, Who is going to wanna work with him now? This dude has no class.

I was interested in this story until he slagged off in Keanu Reeves in such a hurtful way in his book. Matthew obviously still has a long way to go in his recovery if he can say things like that — about anyone, but especially about an exemplary human like Keanu. What a disappointment.
