To be honest, Trump will most likely be disqualified from being a candidate at some point. It most likely will be done by the courts. The guy lies more than gangsters and thiefs and even the courts acknowledge his lies. His republican judges acknowledge this as well. He thinks he's on the top now but most likely he'll get kicked out in the end and you might see a president desantis or president Haley if democrats can't expand their vision of the country while fighting off false republican claims.

Everybody seems to be missing the point: most republican politicians are aware of the fact that Donald Trump has no true allegiance to the Republican party. If they did adopt the line of conduct they're suggesting on this panel, all together as a united party, maybe, just maybe , this could have swayed some of the Trump supporters, moved them back to be republican first, MAGA second. But they would have definitely NOT conviced all MAGA republicans.
Trump would have had a lot of support still and even if the Party rebuked him entirely, Trump would have just created a third party and ran anyway. This would have not only ensured a democratic victory, but would have likely killed the Republican party altogether. The republicans party is aware they created a monster, one they can't turn away from because it has too much influence on a big chunk of their party and its electors and it is a very selfish, vendictive beast. That chunk its all he needs to cripple the Party.
