A decent, developed, rational nation must provide a minimum of five things to it's people, in no particular order as all five are vital:
* Social safety for everyone.
* Fully accessible health care for the entire population, at a reasonable, fully attainable cost.
* Good quality, well paid work or a sensible level of wage replacement benefit that enables an acceptable quality of life.
* Decent quality, fully accessible housing for everyone in the society.
* Quality, fully accessible education for everyone at all levels, up to PhD. If there is any cost, then it has to be nominal.
As far as I can see America does not provide one of those requirements to the vast majority of it's inhabitants.
The 'dog eat dog' ethos of US society and the appalling, ludicrous 2nd Amendment come together to create a real life dystopia.
As fact, America is not a decent, developed or even slightly rational nation. Rather, it is a horrifying, cancerous, poisonous shambles.

I have a disabled brother, who lost his Medicaid, and health insurance. He is disabled and on life-support. He has 24/7 care nursing at home. Lost all the nurses, and now all the siblings are having to take shifts to take care of him. Everything was turned in on time!!

Well if the Texas Governor would stop allocating all of the states budget to the Border and actually spent some of those Taxpayers dollars to help the Texas Medicaid and CHIP and Foodstamp programs then this would not be happening all at once in Texas.
As long as Gov. Abbott keeps acting the way he does with regards to the border and sending migrants on busses and planes which is paid for by the Texas Taxpayers, these much needed programs in Texas will continue to stop and people who need the coverage will not get it.

I know it can be a sore subject for many, but imagine life with Universal Healthcare. This ridiculous scenario would not exist. Universal Healthcare is such an obvious choice, yet insurance companies and politicians constantly push forward misinformation that demonizes the very idea of universal healthcare. Why? They know that it will benefit every single American, yet they work against it! Each of them benefit from reliable healthcare. Are you not equally as deserving? They broadcasted this negative viewpoints about universal healthcare in hopes that Americans will be gullible enough to reject it. It has worked beautifully, for decades! Even to the point where individuals willingly vote against themselves!! Look at how many folks voted against 'Obamacare', while benefiting crucially from the Affordable Care Act. Does that make any sense?! It is one and the same, yet politicians have convinced a large majority that it is not! Think outside the negatives and ask yourself how you would benefit from universal healthcare? How would that make life better for you, and for those struggling minute to minute with unknown and known physical and mental health problems? We already know some of the issues/problems that arose in other countries that provide universal healthcare. Things they did not think through before implementing their health care program. Americans can be extremely intelligent, can we not think of solutions to avoid any and all problems? Instead of complaining about what COULD happen, what did happen in other countries, talk about the solutions! That knowledge will allow us to move forward progressively! Creating solutions and ideas that other countries could benefit from as well. And let us not fall back on political affiliations. That has not made a single difference in the past. If it did, we would already have universal healthcare. Not a constant influx of problems. At present, we have many Americans that do pay towards personal healthcare but cannot afford the deductible for a sudden medical emergency. Again, does that make any sense?!! You have faithfully paid towards health care, but you still cannot afford health care?!! Come on! I can only imagine how extremely frustrating, frightening and heartbreaking that must be for those in such a scenario. Every American should be speaking out for universal healthcare. You deserve it.
Unfortunately, I deal with DV and needed an X-ray on my shoulder. I called my doc to get appointment. They called me back and informed me that I no longer had insurance. They couldn't see me. I've dealt with pain and decreased movement in my shoulder now for 3 weeks but unable to get healthcare.
We need universal healthcare.
