An American college student who was reported missing while studying abroad in France has been found alive in Spain. The student’s parents posted to their family website that their son spoke to them for the first time in almost three weeks.

There's definitely more to the story. People don't just go missing for over two weeks, especially while there is an international manhunt underway. The kid also would have called his parents, I'm sure he knew they were worried and waiting for his call.
