Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte has signed the country’s first law restricting downloads of TikTok. The platform has responded in a statement saying the ban “infringes on the First Amendment rights of the people of Montana.” NBC’s Danny Cevallos reports.

Banning TikTok from the public never felt like an ideal solution because of this. Don’t understand why a state government is taking up an sensitive issue with a poor solution.

How is TikTok information gathering anymore lawful than Facebook information gathering we can’t bend it just because it’s “the Chinese government” we need a blanket privacy law. And a ban on collecting and selling personal information.
Not to mention how many individuals and small businesses make a living off of TikTok. I hope this becomes a class action lawsuit because Montana is infringing on a lot of peoples rights.
