12:21 3 shots heard over call

(calling 911 was part of what she was told to do in her active shooter training)

There are much worse things than death: shame, disgrace, and betrayal…Those kids died that day only once, but those that sat will die inside everyday for the rest of their lives.
Since this is still a very emotional issue with everyone (myself included) I am going to withhold final judgement on everyone's (except the gunman's) actions in this case, until I am sure that ALL of the facts are in and are being reported with total accuracy. At this point, as it is being reported, it seems that, at the very least, there was a HUGE breakdown in communication between that police department's dispatching division and officers on the scene. I would really like to hear from the person who was in charge of the scene, and what convinced him that the shooter had barricaded himself in an empty room, and was ALL ALONE. If that had been the case, his decision would have been correct. But if there were things going on that made it obvious that there were victims trapped inside that room with the shooter, that decision was cowardly, immoral, and indefensible.
I read that he was arrested 17 times prior to this event. It's not about giving criminals chance after chance after chance, it's about protecting innocent people from those criminals.
