Who cares. It's all huge steel beams riding on bent steel beams. It shows just how safe they have become. And being cracked like that was likely more than a year until it finally broke enough to be visible..

Structural explanations for this crack aside, It’s astonishing, that as of yet Carowinds has yet to reconcile these repeated public statements of daily safety inspections with this incident with “Fury”
(As per Carowinds recent and only public statements “Daily Inspections” includes Fury’s structural integrity)
Conveniently nobody from Carowinds has yet to make themselves available to answer this very simple, direct question I have personally posed to them.
It appears that Carowinds views this in the following manner: The public is to continue patronize their park, yet at the same time, Carowinds feels it has no moral or even ethical obligation to clarify this simple yet. easily verifiable safety question.
It’s crystal clear that Carowinds could not give one iota about the safety of their guests.
The level of outright contempt, complacency and indifference, is palatable.
Why reopen? Burn it in the town square.

It’s obviously been a slow news week for you guys 😂 anyone that lives in NC knows exactly what’s going on. They’re getting a whole new piece delivered THIS week. After they install it, they will be doing 500 run cycles, as well as safety inspections with NC inspectors AND B&M.
This will open this ride again, it’s Carowinds top coaster and biggest money maker. People travel from all over the country just to ride this coaster. So not sure why GMA is saying “IF” they’re opening it. Lol.
If you’re going to tell a story, tell the WHOLE story and stop causing mass hysteria.

I think a shock absorber should be installed where the crack occurred.
You know the entire time theure pushing this rollercoaster and submarine, the governments probably signing executive orders to limit our freedoms or to flat out destroy the constitution or tweak it in a way that benefits their new agendas.
I'd imagine whoever did that weld, did quite a few others on that ride.
Tear it down.. scrap metal.. not worth the risks
Scab (weld) a large round collar over it (grease a few hands) and it will be good to go. Surprised the owners didn't tie the coaster to the pole with a steel cable….hehehe!
It's too late because of the way the amusement park initially handled the situation showed they didn't care, and that is why the video was recorded.
I don't want to ever go on those rides because of the way it's managed. Profit over people Is a bad business move for that type of business.

This coaster could have ran forever even if they completely removed that entire support. If it had not been discovered by the general public the ride would have quietly closed for repairs and no one would have ever known it even happened. Love the medias alarmism though.

That's not a crack that's a complete failure of the tower .
Could you imagine to have rode that ride that day. 😮 but I wonder if they are planning on to just weld said “crack” looked like to me it was broken. They should just replace it they bolts there at the top. I know those are welded together most likely but it held up good but all I am thing is Final Destination 2

I'm not a engineer though honestly probably the only effectively permanent fix would be to replace that entire steel column that's affected. They may be like oh we'll weld it though if there's as much as a quality control issue with that particular steel column it may happen again.

The fact that theres a break and still hasnt been an accident is a testament to the engineering, they just need to replace that support beam an then do a full ride analysis and structural diagnostics an test it for saftey then reopen the ride. Ive been cross trained on coasters like apollos chariot and lochness monster ive seen these procedures take place over and over. At busch garden's a mistake like this would result in several people being terminated immediately

That entire support is must be replaced, otherwise that ride shouldn't be used. The metal/ material fatigue is clear, and that can't be "just a patch job"
