The Afghan air force claims to have killed 16 insurgents in strikes on Taliban targets in the South. The Taliban took over three cities on Sunday and now control at least five regional capitals. Fleeing families have been left homeless by the fighting, and at least 27 children were killed in the last 72 hours, according to the U.N.
