A family is suing a New Mexico high school after a teacher allegedly brought real swords to her chemistry class and let her students spar. The lawsuit alleges the swords badly injured a student in the classroom.

Maybe she though a sword fight would be like the movies. Somebody throws some fancy move and disarms their opponent to the class cheering and they think she's the coolest teacher ever. Wrong. Reality is that swords cut and stab, like they were meant to and she now has blood on her hands.
What the teacher didn't have a set of dueling pistols?

Maybe if there was a proper guard on the sword that wouldn't happen. The problem is not the sword fighting but the fact they use the swords that are just popular and not great for actual combat. We need to teach kids how to sword fight better with proper weaponry.

These are teenagers. Not surprising. What is surprising is that our universities are pumping out teachers who are not just unqualified but even miseducated. They are ruining a generation of young people.
Strange, this doesn't upset me much. Kids do stuff like this. But I don't know what the teacher was thinking.
Wow… I don't even know what to say for something like this.
I mean, I knew that critical reasoning was reaching new lows when half the electorate is vouching to put a psychopath dictator in power, but I didn't know things were this bad in some schools.
