Every year, an estimated 400 families are devastated by the sudden death of a toddler or young child. Now, an NYU study published in the medical journal Neurology on sudden unexplained death in children found evidence of febrile seizures in some of the cases. NBC News’ Kate Snow spoke with a family impacted, and has more details on the findings of the study.

I thought SID was just small babies but these are walking babies.
The singing to him the night before completely crushed me. I am a mother of 3, would’ve been 4 but I had something called vanishing twin syndrome very early in my pregnancy. Though I try not to be dismissive of my own emotions because they matter, I cannot imagine losing a child, especially unexpectedly. I am so sorry this happened to your family but through his short life, he brings a bright shining light. I am certain he is one proud baby boy for how amazing you parents are. ❤

I can't imagine the pain of losing a child I feel for all those babies loved ones. I never even thought that it could happen to a twin which is silly I guess. This is such important work to try to prevent and understand. I hope this really turns into something significant ❤

There are no words I can say, but I’m so very sorry.
The taboo reason and the one no one wants you to even think about is childhood vaccines. Dr. Paul Thomas a pediatrician from Oregon (med boards took away his license because of this) said he NEVER had a SIDS case before vaccines, only after. Until the CDC agrees to do a real study, this tragedy will continue.
A lot of these deaths are at the same time as the 2, 4, 6 month + 1 year shots. This data was reflected in the research done on the SIDS mats, although the findings were ignored.
I find it bittersweet to have this video suggested after posting a vlog about my recent miscarriage. ❤💔 SIDS has always been something I will fear in the future especially after knowing people who have been affected by it. This research is pivotal! I'm happy it was recommended.

my condolences to that family, i lost my brother to SIDS before i was even born. he would be 35 years old now, im 32. i am just glad i have two older sisters that i grew up with. so no matter how much you fight with your siblings just be grateful you have them.
My son had febrile seizures just after his two year old shots. Kept going all weekend. Thank goodness he hasn’t had any since then. He is 11 now.
