Wow! I'm so happy I've never experienced any of those warning signs. And "moderate" drinking being defined as 7 drinks per week??!! I'd label that as excessive! Not even when I was in college did I ever even consume 7 drinks per week!
I need to hear and follow this and accept This may be my faith

I'm glad the doctor pointed out that the alcoholic stereotype doesn't apply to everyone. My parents were highly functioning and successful people who stayed at home every night so they could drink alcoholically. Neither missed work because of drinking, nor did many people realize that they were alcoholics. Yet both died at young ages (54 and 60) of alcohol-related diseases.
Did she actually say thanks for ruining our fun? This cavalier attitude towards drinking is the problem. It was meant to be a joke but that was awfully tone death. Yikes
I always thought it was strange that there was an all-out war on smoking in this country starting (in earnest) in the 1990 but there was never a war on drinking. I never ever saw anyone have too much to smoke and then get behind the wheel of a car and kill a whole family. Never.

Laughing at alcoholism and claiming that the doctor is "ruining our fun" just demonstrates how deeply in denial most people are about alcoholism. My ex-wife and I are alcoholics. It destroyed our marriage. I sobered up 30 years ago. She kept drinking until a couple of weeks ago when she died of liver failure. It was a horrible, gruesome death. It ruined her "fun" permanently.
Well considering how men can be women I want to no if they are biological women or a mix of both
…..it's sad.
