Nice propaganda, assigning objectives to Russia so you can claim it didn't reach them. Kiev has no strategic importance. Russia could blow it to bits without even crossing the border (and without using nukes). In fact, it could do that with any Ukrainian city. You should try to come up with an explanation for why they don't.
The Donetsk and Luhansk cities were the richest industrial parts of Ukraine and the rural parts of the oblasts, which they did not control before the war, is the richest agricultural part. Without those, Ukraine is a third rate country. Once the Nazis are crushed, you won't have much resistance from those Russian speaking regions. And I doubt the Ukrainian conscripts will find much enthusiasm in participating in an offensive to take them back. They'll probably rather want their wives and kids to come back home from Poland
