Tonight's Oct 12 airing included California's new "crackdown" on illegal marijauna growers and associated human trafficking. One major point to consider here….ever since "weed" has been grown and cultivated in California (beginning as early as the late 1960's), people from Mexico, Central America, South America, etc have been crossing our border in furtherance of making money. These folks knowingly take the risks associated with marijuana (tending to crop, security, harvesting, etc). This has always been omnipresent. The main reason the California Government is announcing a "crackdown" is very simple. In fact, the Govnt official mentioned the reason tonight. The profits from illegal growers outweigh the profits (taxes) California is taking in. Simple. Its always about money. Rest assured….if California profits (takes) from weed were greater than those profits associated with non-licensed growers…..well…..the issue of human trafficking would be utterly ignored. Its never about the plight of people…..its about MONEY and profits and tax income for the State. TRUTH.
