Comment on Mankad – why not update Rulebook to – deny runs to batting team if some part of the bat is not behind the return crease at the point of delivery? Already cameras in place for no-ball. It wouldn't take long for this problem to be solved. Batsman would find out after each delivery how many runs recorded. The non-striker then has an obligation to the striker to keep bat behind crease. Alternately recorded like sundries e.g. minus runs column against the player who backs up and penalises team by reducing total runs scored.
Congratulations to Australia for a very convincing win and total domination in this test series. They seem to have a much better prepared team than SA at the moment with a plethora of superstars in both the batting and bowling departments. Given that Australia were well on top of this test match and are now leading the test series 2-0, I think the mankad incident was totally unnecessary and suggests that there may be some insecurities sitting on Starc's shoulders. Its a test match and its not as if one or two quick singles were going to make any difference to the result. If he spoke to De Bruyne about this the evening before and its such a big them for him, then just run him out. Don't try and act like his father and have words with him on the pitch.
Starcy is well within his rights to Mankad De Bruyn if he kept taking undue advantage by starting early at non striker’s end again and again
