Brittany Wroblewski. who was at the parade with her family, joins News NOW to share her account of the shooting and why the tragedy has spurred her to take action.

My heart bleeds for her. I so agree w/her stance on assault weapons. I didn’t vote for Biden, but what she says is true.
It’s not the guns it’s people. He’s a mentally ill. Had someone had a weapon to protect himself or herself there could have been a chance to distract him or clearly shoot him dead. Doing away with our Second Amendment isn’t going to get rid of evil. The mistake was the community/parents/police for not overseeing the shooter for his mental illness. They should have supervised him, and not only that, but records of his past should have popped up within the system of background checks.

This mom's communication skills are fantastic. Her ability to express what happened is just amazing to me. Her dad saved the life of that 8 year old boy. I am so grateful for him and people like him. I will never forget her saying "military grade" in the hands of civilians becomes "criminal grade." Words are powerful. I am gonna start using that. Thank you, Brittany!
Brittany he did not legally purchase the guns. He was under age. He had help from an adult. We need to look at this fact and do something immediately.
I live in HP and am so sorry for what my fellow neighbors have gone through. Just horrendous and it could have been prevented.
Sadly I don't think banning assault rifles will change anything. Bad people will find a way to do bad things.

Where are the goof guys with the guns to shoot down these public shooters? How many times, how many deaths, how many orphans do we need until things change. I'm devastated. It's our nation's birthday, and we have a public shooting. Nobody is safe.

As someone who had a recurring nightmare that made no sense and was later corroborated by my mother as a traumatic real event in my life, he WILL remember, but it will likely be buried in his subconscious. I hope they can get counseling of some sort for him.
Brittany is RIGHT. A TON has to be done on many levels! Highland Park is my home town and the fact this happened is beyond words. I almost went to visit family on Sunday and sleep over but I chose to maybe visit my family Monday. My home town does NOT raise TERRORISTS. It's not meant to be seen on live television looking like a ghost town! The only way this kind of thing will stop is by actively monitoring people's mental health issues and making sure these things don['t have time to even get to the initial planning stages! Weapons themselves don't do anything, it's people who use them! Mental health issues are the real issue and that's what has got to be monitored and worked on to stop things like this from happening!

It is not just the shooter's age that should have been too young to be able to buy a gun. It was the gun described as a weapon of mass destruction. And how anxious and on edge the mother interviewed was.
