I grew up in that area (Northern CA), I actually miss that weather, not necessarily storms this dangerous but I do miss the intense rains and storms we would have when I was a kid and teenager growing up there. The massive and powerful waves crashing into the shore and retaining walls near the Presidio in SF, the weeks of rain – sometimes storms with lightening and thunder – a few hours north of the Bay Area, and the occasional strong rains in the San Joaquin Valley are the types of winter weather I grew up with. Anyone who grew up there or in that type of weather knows how satisfying a hot bowl of soup or chili is or a cup of hot chocolate or coffee is on a days like that.
