For decades, Al Gore and the democrats have been telling us the single greatest threat to the world was global warming. Well, they lied to us. Contrary to what you've been told, this country and the world's economy does not run-on green energy, it doesn't run on electric cars, it doesn't run on solar panels, it doesn't run on wind power, it runs on diesel fuel. And according to data from the energy information administration, we're about ready to run out of it. Trucks and trains will stop running and if that happens, the nation shuts down, because this nation runs on diesel fuel. So, when this happens, remember who to thank, Al Gore, Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Two consecutive negative quarters of GDP were not the old proxy for a recession, the rules haven't changed and the NBER has been making the decision of what is a recession. The only thing new about this time of having two consecutive quarters is the unemployment is so much lower than it has ever been in bad economic times. Even saying the unemployment rate is lower than it has been for the last 50 years is misleading. We were at war in Vietnam 50 years ago and wars make jobs. If you consider peacetime unemployment, the present rate is lower than the data collection for the economy and you would have to estimate unemployment before data.
The NBER would be out of their minds to call this a recession, but let the Fed keep trying to solve the inflation problem with their only tool to destroy demand and we could go into a recession. The inflation is caused by supply shortages and shortages in the workforce. The country needs to add workers, so fix the immigration laws and solve the border problem by getting Congress to fund transportation away from the border.
Why haven't the Democrats compared the entire history of economic data of all kinds to the political parties holding office? It's proof the Republicans aren't good for the economy.
