Well I certainly wouldn't have wanted someone to cut me with one of those defensive keychains, as it's being called now. It can do damage. Even if he did ONLY want the microphone THAT is not the right way to do it and anyone with half a brain would NOT reach anywhere near anyone with a visible sharp "item" in their hand a mere few inches from another human being. 'You're done' COULD have meant anything and to a person on a stage, it would be easy to hear that as "You're done" as in "You're dead"…and the speaker might have easily thought the person saying that might have a more deadly weapon on them.
If you want the microphone, just politely keep your distance and say "Excuse me, we have someone else who would like to speak for a moment." ———— Since THAT didn't happen / the assumption that someone who suddenly approached and made such ambiguous comments could be a threat especially in the climate of shootings we've had recently was entirely understandable.

This is a STRANGE event. The "attacker" certainly could have done damage, but, if you watch in slow-mo, his primary interest is in grabbing the microphone — i.e., "You're done (speaking)," NOT "You're done (with life)." Nonetheless, the "attacker's" back-up plan could well have been: If Zeldin resists, I'm going to puncture him.
Remember, when elites do these illegal acts it's a civil crime; however, when you do it, it's criminal. Double standards are fun kids
