Snack company Paqui is pulling off its signature spicy ships from store shelves all over the country after a teenager in Massachusetts allegedly died while trying to complete the “One Chip Challenge.”

I've eaten one of these. If you like spicy food, these chips are really not that hot. I have been served much hotter food in Indian/Thai/Vietnamese/Hotwing restaurants.
Biting into a raw habenero is way, way, way worse than 1 of these chips, and you can buy those by the handful at any grocery store for about 60 cents…
I understand Paqui's fears, and that poor family must be distraught. But the heat level of these chips is not dangerous by any stretch of the imagination.
I hope the family figures out what caused his reaction and gets some closure.
