McCarthy is toast because if he gives into the maga nuts then he has to explain himself to the conservative side and either way he will lose . Serious question – what happens if the House can't decide on a Speaker and the deadline on the debt ceiling passes? I know it means that the government doesn't have any more money and shuts down, but can the House still meet under those conditions?
A republican needs to step up right now and tell the whole caucus that if they dont get behind either McCarthy or any other nominee solidly during the next vote that every single one of them will be have primary challenges and that they will have a great potential to lose their seat all together to a Dem for basically being derelict in their duty to their party.
