Oct. 1, 2013, the government shut down for 16 days after Congress was unable to agree on a budget. This happened while Biden was vice president and it was primarily a dispute over Obama care. I am not super worried about a shutdown. There are two avenues I could see happening one is the CR the senate is making right now so they would make it and then punt it down to the house and get people sign in to discharge it to the floor and vote on it. The other option I see is there is a bill that the problem solvers caucus has come up and I could see that getting discharged to the floor or even a temporary clean CR raise if necessary. There is enough reasonable GOP who are willing to vote with Dems to prevent shutdown
