A man on a flight over South Korea allegedly ripped open the plane’s emergency door minutes before landing. Flight officials say the plane was carrying 194 passengers about 700 feet above ground. The man has been detained by police. NBC News’ Steve Patterson has the latest.

Man i used to love air travel not anymore. People are so rude and selfish and there is no excuse for it. My luggage is constantly lost and customer service is nonexistent. I prefer to drive and only fly if i have to.

I'm surprised that door can be opened so easily even after hearing the explanation. Let this not be a new trend. Some sick sob is miserable so he's or she's gong to spread it around by trying to cause death and destruction. What the heck is going on?
